The Homestead is a private sole-use lodge at Kariega, offering all the comfort, convenience and privacy of your own home. With dedicated hosts, a private game ranger and chef, guests have the flexibility to plan their day according to their own needs — drives on your schedule, meals when they suit you, the run of the property for your party.
Seven spacious en-suite bedrooms, a bar, swimming pool, satellite TV, lounge, large garden, boma and spectacular views — ideal for multi-generational families, friend groups or corporate retreats. Sleeps 10 to 14 people on a sole-use basis. Children of all ages are welcome.
Kariega is 12,000 hectares of malaria-free Big 5 country in the Eastern Cape, roughly an hour from Port Elizabeth airport.

What does sole-use mean at The Homestead?
You book the whole property — all seven en-suite bedrooms — for your party only. No other guests share the lodge, the vehicle or the chef. The rate is per whole property, not per person, so the per-villa cost stays the same whether you bring 10 or 14 guests.
Who is The Homestead suited for?
Multi-generational families, close friend groups, small corporate retreats, or anyone who wants the privacy of their own home plus full safari service. Children of all ages are welcome — the lodge is the only Kariega option that comfortably accommodates very young children alongside teens and adults.
How is The Homestead different from Kariega's other lodges?
The Homestead is the only sole-use property at Kariega — your own private team, vehicle and chef, with all ages welcome. The other four lodges (Main Lodge, Ukhozi, River Lodge, Settlers Drift) are shared lodges with rooms sold individually. Main Lodge also welcomes children; Ukhozi, River Lodge and Settlers Drift are adults-only.
