A secluded valley hideaway above an active waterhole
Inzolo Lodge sits in its own secluded valley on the Lalibela Wildlife Reserve, surrounded by rugged cliffs and indigenous bush. Stone-and-thatched rooms each have private viewing decks looking out over the lodge’s waterhole — where elephant, kudu and resident wildlife come and go through the day. En-suite bathrooms have his-and-her basins and a deep bath; suites face the bush from secluded private decks.
Please note: Inzolo Lodge is currently bookable only by enquiry through African Safari Group rather than via the live availability widget — the live calendar will show alternative Lalibela lodges (Kichaka, Lentaba, Mark’s Camp, Mills Manor). Contact us to confirm dates and rates.
Lalibela is malaria-free Big 5 country, about an hour from Port Elizabeth airport, and is known for some of the highest concentrations of free-roaming lions in South Africa.

Questions about Inzolo Lodge
What's included in the rate at Inzolo Lodge?
Your rate includes accommodation, all meals (breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner), twice-daily Big 5 game drives with qualified rangers, selected wines, beers and soft drinks, and your stay on the malaria-free Lalibela Wildlife Reserve. Premium spirits and spa treatments are billed separately.
How is Inzolo different from Lalibela's other lodges?
Inzolo is the most intimate lodge on Lalibela — just 4 suites — set in its own secluded valley with private waterhole views. It's the luxury, adults-leaning choice; Kichaka is the larger flagship with 10 suites and a fuller facility list including spa and gym.
When is the best time to visit Lalibela?
Lalibela is malaria-free and a year-round destination. May to September (winter) gives the best Big 5 viewing as bush thins and animals gather at water. October to March brings lush green landscapes and newborn wildlife.
How do I get to Inzolo Lodge?
Inzolo is approximately a 1-hour drive from Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). Self-drive directions are shared on confirmation; airport transfers can be arranged via African Safari Group.
What is the cancellation policy?
31+ days before arrival — no forfeit. 15 to 30 days — 50% of booking total forfeited. 14 days or less — 80% of booking total forfeited.
