A 150-year-old manor house in the bush
Leeuwenbosch is more country house than safari lodge. The original 1875 settler manor — yellowwood floors, pressed-tin ceilings, family portraits in the hallway — has been the home of the Weeber family for five generations, and welcomes guests as houseguests rather than tourists.
Five suites are split between the main house and a converted stone barn. Children of all ages are welcome. Two daily Big 5 game drives are included; the rest of the day unfolds on a sun-warmed verandah, in the garden, or with a swim under the giant fig tree.
