An old-school explorer's camp on the Bushman's River
Quatermains Camp is the most evocative stay in Amakhala. Nine canvas suites are pitched along the banks of the Bushman’s River — heavy brass fittings, paraffin lamps swinging from the ridge poles, plumbed-in copper showers, and writing desks where you might once have planned an expedition.
The camp is named for the fictional explorer Allan Quatermain, and everything about the styling leans into that romance: boma dinners under the stars, walking safaris with armed rangers, brandies on the deck at sundown.
